after what seems like eons, heres a small update.
lotsa stuff going on behind the scenes. best check (and like!) my facebook page or just stay alert.
do you know the best part of summer? thats right, being squeezed in hot, humid, loud places and listening to bands while losing 2/3rds of your body weight in sweat.
at least thats what happened yesterday during the amazing Savanah and Güacho concert.
i was thinking about making a joke about the recent vote in styria, nazis and a argentinian band playing in austria, but hey, the simpsons already covered that. kinda. so just watch that episode where they call hitler in argentina, and go on with your lives.
the show was damn great, and i took a … experimental approach with my photos.
experimental of course means even shittier than usual.
check those bands out.
mile me deaf played a great show at the Sub in Graz yesterday. there were 2 other bands as well, the painted beehive and the decibelles from lyon. both played great shows, the decibelles had a cute french accent, but i didnt shoot any photos because of.. well, lets just blame some foreigners. yes, its becaus of them, they stole my motivation, my camera, my ability to focus properly and what not. so please enjoy those blurry, noisy, out of focus shots of that great show.

soo, there was a pretty damn intense thunderstorm going on yesterday.
now, having the always entertaining topic of weather out of the way lets move on to more important things. concerts, for example!
yesterday a great one happened to be at the Explosiv Graz.
it was the first show of the amazing Super Sonic Silver Haze, and it was a blast!
The Scarabeusdream had a energetic live show that one wouldnt expect from 2 dudes with a drumset and a piano.
Zeni Gava were exactly what one would expect from a japanese band – fast, chaotic, and technical.
Zu were weird, loud and fast. gotta love it.
all in all a great evening, big thank you to the organizers!
photos below, enjoy! Continue reading “SuperSonicSilverHaze / The Scarabeusdream / Zeni Geva / ZU”
here´s a few shots from that, for the full coverage please check out my concert review at the Gap: http://www.thegap.at/musikstories/artikel/rotwein-und-rock/
thanks everybody, feel free to share this post, and feel free to comment here.
so, yesterday the amazing Styrian Sounds festival started off at the PPC, including an amazing lineup with the Löve Icons, The Liberation Service and Barrier Reef / The Great and In This Temple, amongst others. I shot photos of those 3. enjoy. or dont. Continue reading “Styrian Sounds.”
here are some color versions of shots from the kadavar / the picturebooks show.
lots of noise going on in those thanks to high iso.
b/w versions still online here: http://noisey.vice.com/alps/read/kadaver-konzert-graz-fotos-666
i am kinda trying to think of some kind of funny, intelligent intro, but as usual my brain lets me down.
so there you go, look at the photos of your favourite bars barkeepers band (musichouse) playing at another bar with other bands.
that sentence made total sense in my head.
yesterday was a good day. the amazing Ants! opened for the even more amazing RVIVR, one of the top 3 bands on this planet right now. listen to them here, or keep on blowing it. the show was amazing, as expected, the MusicHouse was packed, as expected. But hey, for once, i would like to add a little bit of criticism here: i am somewhat confused as to the reaction of people to crowdsurfing and dancing. yes, i do not like that too, especially since half of the time i am around it with a months salary of camera equipment, but goddamn, if you want everybody standing around and mindlessly staring into the void just go to a Helene Fischer concert. its amazing that there are people who preach tolerance and acceptance yet throw fuck you fingers and start being aggressive if somebody doesnt exactly behave the way they want it to. this of course also goes out to the people that somehow think that everybody would want their sweaty ass in their face. dance, have fun, but if you are a 2m guy try not to fall on that girl half your size. congrats to RVIVR for being mediators in this scenario.
now, enjoy the pictures, listen to the bands, buy their stuff. they deserve it.
after a lazy sunday, theres nothing better to start off the week than being tired because you went to a concert. luckily, this time it was only 2 bands and 45 minutes delay, so yeah, theres that. first off were “A Frame of a Life” with an acoustic set. didnt get to catch a picture, sorry you two. they used a guitar as a drum sometimes, which for me is the equivalent of people dancing to Helene Fischer: its highly confusing. but the show was nice, good voices, maybe a little too slow for me but hey, i am not exactly a music critic anyway.
next up were some guys that i have hoped to see live for some time now: Arliss Nancy! all those fancy beards, tattoos and beanies gave me high expectations, looking good is crucial for sounding good. i think. the show was great, they smoked cigarettes, drank beer, i shot some photos, they suck, (i mean i suck, these guys rule). if you get the chance, go see them live and buy some of their stuff.
thanks to everyone organizing this, it was a great evening. now enough with the mindless rambling, photo-time.
