after what seems like eons, heres a small update.
lotsa stuff going on behind the scenes. best check (and like!) my facebook page or just stay alert.
soo, there was a pretty damn intense thunderstorm going on yesterday.
now, having the always entertaining topic of weather out of the way lets move on to more important things. concerts, for example!
yesterday a great one happened to be at the Explosiv Graz.
it was the first show of the amazing Super Sonic Silver Haze, and it was a blast!
The Scarabeusdream had a energetic live show that one wouldnt expect from 2 dudes with a drumset and a piano.
Zeni Gava were exactly what one would expect from a japanese band – fast, chaotic, and technical.
Zu were weird, loud and fast. gotta love it.
all in all a great evening, big thank you to the organizers!
photos below, enjoy! Continue reading “SuperSonicSilverHaze / The Scarabeusdream / Zeni Geva / ZU”
here´s a few shots from that, for the full coverage please check out my concert review at the Gap: http://www.thegap.at/musikstories/artikel/rotwein-und-rock/
thanks everybody, feel free to share this post, and feel free to comment here.
shot this amazing show yesterday, check out my gallery at Noisey!
more shots will follow on here soon.
yesterday was a good day. the amazing Ants! opened for the even more amazing RVIVR, one of the top 3 bands on this planet right now. listen to them here, or keep on blowing it. the show was amazing, as expected, the MusicHouse was packed, as expected. But hey, for once, i would like to add a little bit of criticism here: i am somewhat confused as to the reaction of people to crowdsurfing and dancing. yes, i do not like that too, especially since half of the time i am around it with a months salary of camera equipment, but goddamn, if you want everybody standing around and mindlessly staring into the void just go to a Helene Fischer concert. its amazing that there are people who preach tolerance and acceptance yet throw fuck you fingers and start being aggressive if somebody doesnt exactly behave the way they want it to. this of course also goes out to the people that somehow think that everybody would want their sweaty ass in their face. dance, have fun, but if you are a 2m guy try not to fall on that girl half your size. congrats to RVIVR for being mediators in this scenario.
now, enjoy the pictures, listen to the bands, buy their stuff. they deserve it.
after a lazy sunday, theres nothing better to start off the week than being tired because you went to a concert. luckily, this time it was only 2 bands and 45 minutes delay, so yeah, theres that. first off were “A Frame of a Life” with an acoustic set. didnt get to catch a picture, sorry you two. they used a guitar as a drum sometimes, which for me is the equivalent of people dancing to Helene Fischer: its highly confusing. but the show was nice, good voices, maybe a little too slow for me but hey, i am not exactly a music critic anyway.
next up were some guys that i have hoped to see live for some time now: Arliss Nancy! all those fancy beards, tattoos and beanies gave me high expectations, looking good is crucial for sounding good. i think. the show was great, they smoked cigarettes, drank beer, i shot some photos, they suck, (i mean i suck, these guys rule). if you get the chance, go see them live and buy some of their stuff.
thanks to everyone organizing this, it was a great evening. now enough with the mindless rambling, photo-time.
every once in a while, i manage to get my ass up and go to a concert. even though it was raining and i had to use the tram, which i hate. but it was worth it, a great evening with The Generators and Heroes´n´Ghosts was motivation enough! it was hot, it was sweaty, it was great. check both bands out and watch them live if you have the chance. they are sexy motherf****. every now and then it happens that incredibly good bands get sucked into the hole known as “Music-House Graz“. and when that happens, its best to show up there.
the latest victims were the superheroes of The Fleshtones (they have their own wikipedia entry, by the way.)
if you knew them before, you knew what was coming up. if you didnt, you fell in love with them. this is how rocknroll stars should grow old – with power, passion and sheer neverending love for music.
the supporting band, Lory Lee and the Flashback Boys, were amazing as well, but i failed to take pictures. yep, i am that good.
anyway, no more boring words, heres the pictures. the show was incredible, if you have the chance to see them, SEE THEM.
i happened to have my camera with me, due to unforeseen circumstances only managed to shoot pics of the Riverboat Gamblers though. proves how much i suck, right?
anyway, enjoy the shots that i managed to get. thanks to everyone involved!
Yesterday was one of my most anticipated shows this year. turns out i wasnt the only one, which meant the Sub was pretty damn packed. so packed that i didnt care to take more pictures. sometimes its better to see the real world, not through a viewfinder. let me just say that it was great and sweaty, and that you should check out all the bands that played. you wont regret it.
